They ALL certainly delivered far more than they promised!!! An added bonus (never mentioned to us) - the solar panels have cooled our home (an old Queenslander) immensely - so much so that I had to check the air conditioning had not been left on!!!! (This may not be the case with all homes I guess????). Outstanding company to deal with, nothing was a problem - 11 out of 10 in my books. Happy to be a referral for anyone with questions.

They didn't rush and placed all of the connections neatly and completely cleaned up after they were finished the job. Top job! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend GEM energy, thanks again!

They are easy to deal with and kept us informed right through from sales to advising us on action post installation, regarding dealing with Energex and our electricity provider. GEM did ask our permission to use use a sub contractor in order to give us a timely installation, and they guys they used were fantastic and took us through the system when they finished. I was very happy with all people I dealt with and even happier with the installation.

Gareth (Sales), Sophie (Install Manager) and Greg and team (Installation), were extremely easy and pleasant to work with. Communication along the way was great as well.
The finished product looks great and is working perfectly, without a single hiccup.
GEM are also great value. In my case, the offer was so good, I was even encouraged to take it by a (very honest) competitor. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I did a lot of research and spent many hours deciding on what products ,company and cost effectiveness I could get for my money.
Their simple planning made more sense,their previous backup of larger commercial installs also showed their here to stay, peace of mind these guys at Gem delivered is the forefront of the industry having many competitors in the market.
My point of call was Christopher Roulston ,this guy has the knowledge and experience to answer any question with out putting down their opposition, this too reveals their position as a genuine retailer

Thursday 8th October, 2020Diego Azevedo from QueenslandI decided to get a quote from Gem Energy based on a recommendation from a friend of mine, who had installed solar a few months prior. I got a quote within hours from my first call and, from there on, always had reasonably quick replies to my queries via email.
Since I had a specific budget in mind and a good idea of what that could get me, I started comparing the price, install reviews and the quality of the pre-sales service, with the quotes I got from another 5 companies.
Gem was running an EOFY special at the time, and included an extra 2y warranty on the Sungrow inverter. With all that combined, I decided to go with them and do not regret it until now. I had my 6.6kw system installed within 5 weeks of going into contract.
Installers showed up on time on the day of the install, and took me through the install process with details. The install looks nice from outside/inside the roof.
I can't comment on the performance of the system yet, as it's still not ON. I am waiting on Origin to replace my current meter with a solar compatible one.

We had over 9kW of panels installed on our home roof, Canadian Solar panels with Fronius inverters and Fronius smart meter. Gem were efficient, handled the installation process professionally and every question I asked (and there were a lot) were answered diligently. The guys that came out to put the panels on our roof were respectful of our property, hard working and showed great attention to detail.
It is worth noting that there are plenty of cheaper solar product alternatives in the marketplace. I would say you always get what you pay for. My solar panels have a minimum 25 year guarantee, and Gem are able to provide a 10 year guarantee on the Fronius inverters. Amazing.
I love the fronius app where i can track in real time how much power my kettle or oven uses, and i can track exactly how much solar kWh I send to the grid. There are also power generation and consumption graphs on the app. My favourite though is working out how much money i am making/saving each day!

Garrett our sales agent was extremely thorough and answered all our 1000 questions and confirmed them with their engineering team. We had asbestos in the ceiling and while other companies threw caution to the wind, GEM Energy was always looking out for our safety and longevity of our system. They were surprisingly the cheapest quote for high end panels and we ended up going with the Sunpower Maxeon 3 as they provided higher long term returns over all the other mid/high range panels and also helped placed them further away from the shade as less panels were required.
Sophie kept us in constant communication after the sale was made to ensure the installation etc went smoothly. They have internal installers and third-party installers. We went with third-party as they would be available sooner. While they did a great job installing the system they forgot to clean up afterwards (which they are meant to as part of their standard install) still they came out the next day once we notified them of the issue.
We ended up with a 6.3kW system (due to the amount of trees around the house) with a 5kW inverter and by our choice (as new evidence shows there might not be worth while) no optimisers. Surprisingly the shade around the house barely touches the panels so on sunny days the system produces already over 30kWh in early spring. The 5kW inverter is capping the system at 5.1kW (though perhaps not too much is lost) so if you don't need that much power you might be worth while having less panels say 5.6kW with no shade to get a similar result or alternatively look into a higher inverter if you need more power. We got more panels as it looked like our house would be effected by shade so we assumed we would generate less than we are currently. However our installer and final configuration ended up missing most of the shade. At least it's future proofed.

Wednesday 12th August, 2020Khenny C from QueenslandAs a consumer I am sure you would be appreciate customer service before the goods being delivered to your door steps, regardless of the price. I had been dealing with lots of other suppliers either at work or the moment I purchased my new house and sourcing for solar panels. Multiple quotes sent to me, none of them bothered to call, as a courtesy follow up or asked what do I really want ( well obviously solar panels, but I meant different options of panels, inverters, with different prices and bunch of combinations to get the bang of your buck, especially when you are about to spend thousands of dollars ).
I have to say GEM has got a good team of staff working to make things right, at least the feeling was already very good since the very beginning when the quotation sent through. Given that I have a big roof, doesn't mean you can fit in as many panels as planned, ( we really worked on the portrait mode, landscape mode, the set backs, the railing, I can assure you this is gonna a challenging thing if you have not done your research about PV )
The good thing is they walk you through the process, giving you combination of ideas/ pricing, until the installation is finished. Not to forget scheduling manager, quite a lot of communication even after the job has completed.
TBH, There is a lot of 5 stars to give to GEM. Thanks guys!

Right from the beginning with Hayden who provided us with several quality options on the product size and scale to meet our solar requirements and budget for our new 2 storey home in Chermside.
We opted for a 10Kw system to generate enough power to be self sufficient and this more than covers our usage along with credits back from our feed in tarrif.
The system itself is top quality and looks amazing on the roof with the all black solar panels and very quiet inverter located internally in our garage.
Jodie has been fantastic coordinating the installation and after sales / commissioning service, the installers (Rob to mention one) have been top notch and we couldn't be happier with the whole process, professionalism and finished result!
We highly recommend Gem Energy.

Wednesday 6th May, 2020Thomas Mooney from QueenslandBefore I sat with approximately 8-10 different companies, I researched all I could regarding solar for approximately 6 weeks. I wasn't parting with anywhere between $9-12,000 without having a good understanding of solar and the pitfalls of others. Every company had varying levels of subject matter knowledge and sales tactics.
Anyway, after careful consideration (I had three good options), I opted for GEM Energy, not only on the basis they are a trusted commercial installer (Australia Zoo), they provided me with realistic expectations and a value for money system. For an 8.3kW Sunpower (21 x 395w panels) System and Fronius Inverter they were well priced and within my budget. They were not the cheapest by a long way, nor the most expensive! The process from signing on the dotted line to installation was seamless. The install itself was a breeze and by the end of the day, you would not have thought a team of three where at the house. GEM Energy has its own team of dedicated installers and trusted contractors and the guys I dealt with, during the install, were amazingly passionate and the quality of the workmanship looks tremendous.
I now wait for the energy company to configure the meter before I can reap the benefits.

After being 9 months in production we have already a credit of $380 with the electricity provider. We actually stopped paying for electricity since the installation. So in short since instalment we saved $1,400 (9m). So in 4 years (if electricity rates don’t change, otherwise this period shortens) we’ll have paid off the solar installation. The solar panels and inverter all perform very well so far. Further great service and customer experience. Who ever I spoke to (sales, engineers, administration or installers), they were very responsive to all my questions. I advise anyone who is interested in solar panels to go with GEM Energy. The salesman was very professional and not at all "hard sell" We were well informed throughout the entire install by the installation manager Sophie and the job was completed ahead of schedule. Jayden and the rest of the tradesmen on site were polite and professional and appear to have completed the job to a high standard. They were very clean and tidy as they worked. On completion the system was fully explained on handover.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending GEM Energy.

Their consultants have a very sound technical knowledge and do not try to oversell, they are very honest and try to guide you to the system that best meet your family's needs. I found their installation manager to be very helpful and was always eager to answer any my questions (you will probably have a few if you haven't :"done" solar before!)
We also found their installer to be efficient, friendly and full of excellent advice on how to best set up and use the system.
I high;y recommend GEM Energy to you if you are thinking of solar power, they also provided great guidance in applying for government assistance

Vince educated me on the different types of systems available so I could make an informed choice. I definitely have the best set up I could have hoped for and I completely rely on the monitoring I never knew I needed. I use all the electricity I want and my system pays for all that, plus the daily connection charge and has been returning me around $100 a quarter.
I couldn't be happier (unless my wife let me put more panels on the roof!)

The System was installed on the day that was agreed and the install team was very professional and pleasant, we had some minor delays due to weather and parts sourcing but nothing major, the install was wrapped up over the following 3 days. Once works were completed, everything was connected up with no problems at all. The sales team followed up after install and provided clarity as to the next steps in submitting the correct info for the grant. The whole process was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend Vincent and the Gem Energy if you're looking at Solar anytime soon.

Hamish was very particular with his installation and did a great job. All seems to be running well. The only negative was the time period it took to install (several weeks from first contact) but I realize there was some demand for installers due to the Queensland Government solar scheme ending.

The System was installed on the day that was agreed and the install team was very professional and pleasant, we had some minor delays due to weather and parts sourcing but nothing major, the install was wrapped up over the following 3 days. Once works were completed, everything was connected up with no problems at all. The sales team followed up after install and provided clarity as to the next steps in submitting the correct info for the grant. The whole process was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend Vincent and the Gem Energy if you're looking at Solar anytime soon.

The installation was later then we got told but that was due to everybody being extremely busy and due to the distance the installers had to travel to site from their home base. The installation was done professionally and in one day, the guys were great.

Installation, experience was great a team of four guys showed up, explained what the plan was and how long it would taken, they took care to ensure they met my request and installed the tiles perfectly centered on the roof and looks very aesthetically pleasing! replaced the couple of tiles broken and helped me set up my app.
The sales person post install has been happy to support me and has continued to be helpful and spend time explaining things with me.
Gem energy is a large company and been around for a good few years, i felt secure using them for this reason and that they would still be in the industry in a few years if I ever need warranty support, be weary of companies offering cheap products, check if they have changed names.

Richard the salesman was very knowledgeable and so helpful with my many questions. He made it easy for me to apply for the qld govt grant and interest free loan. Gem Energy are used to dealing with QRIDA and provided all the right paperwork in the limited time frame I had to make my application.
Jodie the administrator was always great to deal with too. Once again talking me through the process once my QRIDA application was approved. Finally the local contractors who did the actual installation. AGL were so easy to deal with. Alan and his offsider were efficient, friendly and best of all cleaned up afterwards.

I received my quote from Russell who was great in explaining the system and what would happen next. Once I gave the go ahead to GEM I was contacted by Sophie the Installations Manager who looked after me exceptionally well and was able to fix any issues along the way. She then handed me over to electrician Hamish who looked after my installation on site.
Hamish was great helping with a few pre-install issues and was super flexible with his time to sort them out before the installation date. Hamish and Sophie even arranged for the solar panel brackets to be installed early so I could finish a repaint of my roof tiles before the system install. I must say Hamish and his team did an excellent and professional job on the day and Hamish even came back on Saturday to complete the handover, he ran through the operation of the Solar system with me and connected the Inverter to my WiFi and got the SunGrow iSolarcloud App working.
My Solar System has been performing above expectations and I love being able to monitor the whole System either online or with the phone App.
I highly recommend GEM Energy to anyone thinking of installing a Solar System.

We've had our system installed (6,.48 kw fronius inverter, 21 panels) for almost one year now. We were pleasantly surprised when our first bill was a credit for $1.00. Over Summer and operating a swimming pool filter for 8 hrs a day, air con etc we went from an average electricity bill of $300-$450 per to a bill of $69.00. Finally our 3rd bill since we had the system installed came in at $29.00.
Gem Energy install a quality system, at a fair price, and what they say your system will achieve does actually happen! It's a no-brainer going to solar, and Vincent and Gem Energy are the people to deal with. Thanks so much!

This decision was not done lightly. Not knowing much about Solar I did a lot of reading and talking to people. I also read a lot of reviews about different companies that supplied Solar. Jason Dunn from GEM Energy contacted me with a quote and his knowledge of the product he was supplying was invaluable. I was not happy with 2 companies that supplied quotes, they showed their true colours after my selection.
From the time I signed up to the end of the installation I was very happy with the customer service I received. The Admin staff were great with keeping me informed through the whole process. I definitely have a quality product and value for money. The installation was done by a professional team that were curtious and respectful. Would recommend them to anyone. Tuesday 8th May, 2018Cameron Dean from QueenslandGin Gin and Dry commissioned Gem Energy to install a 100KW solar system in late 2014. The system was completed on time in early 2015. We have found Jack and his team to be very reliable and the work of a high standard. It is only early days in regards to analysing the potential savings however we anticipate a saving of a minimum of $26,000 per annum initially but over $42,000 per annum after June 2020 with a mandatory tariff change for our business. Jack at Gem Energy was helpful in reviewing our analysis to determine the viability and projected payback period of 5-5.5 yrs.
We are only six months into actual cost savings but so far it appears on track to meet with our targets. Jack has also been proactive in following up the actual savings and recommendations for adjustments to maximise savings.

As you know I had researched and discussed this implementation for 2 years prior to meeting you and your team and I can say your professionalism and pricing were competitive with those who profess to be long term players in the industry. I was not expecting this and was pleasantly surprised.
Then we came to the installation and again the owner who is very particular about work done on his site made a point of coming to me, dragging me into the factory and showing me the beautiful quality of the cabling and installation work.
Then when we had a faulty piece of equipment it was sourced and supplied in 48 hours which is a major miracle in regional Queensland so this responsiveness to any issues was again impressive. But what we found is the opposite. Because we are getting paid to put excess power back into the grid we tend to think about that and use things like lights as little as possible, turning them off as soon as we leave a room rather than leaving them on because we might come back later.
Now if we can just train the grandkids to do the same :)
