All you need is one pan, 15 minutes, and a few simple quality ingredients to create tender and delicious steak bites that can be enjoyed as part of a meal or simply picked up with a toothpick as an appetizer. If you choose to enjoy the steak bites as a main dish, serve over mashed potatoes or buttered noodles. For a healthier option zucchini noodles or a simple arugula salad are also great choices.

These garlic butter steak bites can be prepared with your favorite cut of meat. Here, sirloin was used not only because it is tender and flavorful, but it is also a less expensive cut of beef. Other cuts such as tenderloin, rib eye, or New York strip steak also work well. Remember when there are only a few elements in a recipe, it is best to use best ingredients possible.

The key to perfect garlic butter steak bites is using a very hot pan so the meat can form a nice crust on all sides. A cast iron skillet works great for this recipe. First the butter is melted and then the steak bites are cooked. At the end of cooking, the flame is turned off before adding the garlic to make sure it doesn't burn. Finally a sprinkle of parsley is added for additional flavor as well as for a burst of color.

Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 4 days. However, these garlic steak bites are so delicious they probably won't last that long!

Butter makes it better...

  • Butter can be used to cook steak, and should be used to cook steak. Watch it carefully since butter can burn at high temperatures.
  • Butter or oil to cook steak? Use both! Oil can withstand higher temperatures while butter adds more flavor. The combination of both butter and oil achieves the best of both worlds.
  • More butter? Yes! Butter is put on cooked steak for added flavor and richness. For added flair try an herbed compound butter.

How do I make my steak tender like butter?

The key to a steak that is tender like butter is to not overcook the meat. The best steak and steak bites have a nice crust on the outside from a high heat sear, while the meat inside is still pink and tender.
