Ingredients

  • 1 (burrito size) flour tortilla

  • 2 ounces brie cheese

  • 2 ounces smoked ham, sliced

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Lay the tortilla flat on a work surface.

  3. Gently spread the softened cheese over the surface of the tortilla to create an even layer. Leave a little space around the edge of the tortilla.

  4. Lay the ham in a single layer on top of the cheese.

  5. Starting at one end, roll the tortilla up tightly like a rug.

  6. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for thirty minutes.

  7. Remove the plastic wrap. Use a sharp knife to slice the rolled sandwich crosswise into pinwheels approximately 3/4-inch wide.

  8. Stick a toothpick through each pinwheel to hold it in place and serve.

Tips

  • Rectangular flatbreads, wraps, and tortillas all make fine wrappers.
  • You can also make your own wrappers by removing the crusts from regular white sandwich bread and then rolling the bread flat with a rolling pin.
  • For an especially healthy option, try using blanched collard green leaves as a wrapper.
